Igor Sartori

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Igor Sartori holds a Ph.D. in Energy demand modelling in buildings and has a long experience in several R&D projects related to zero energy/emission buildings and neighborhoods, and flexible energy demand.

Education

PhD on "Modelling energy demand in the Norwegian building stock", NTNU, Norway.

Master degree: Solar Energy Systems Engineering, Dalarna University, Sweden.

Bachelor degree: Electronics Engineering, University of Padova, Italy.

Visiting PhD/student for one semester each in:
- UPC, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain
- Passive House Institute, Darmstadt, Germany
- MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, US

Competence and research areas

Igor Sartori main areas of research are three: modelling of energy demand in the building stock, definition and design of (nearly) zero energy/emission buildings (nZEB), energy demand flexibility.
In each area he has contributed developing knowledge, models and tools that help policy makers, building portfolio managers, engineering consultants and technology companies working to make the building stock into a sustainability asset.
