Tor has long experience as coordinator of national Norwegian and EU-projects. His focus is on the digital and mathematical aspects of manufacturing with expertise in 3D shape representation both for traditional CAD and Additive Manufacturing with a strong interest in digital twins, their role in the product lifecycle, and the interplay of digital twins with material characterization and simulation. Another focus area is the representation and analysis of large geospatial data sets.
Education
Cand. Real (master, 1978) and Dr. Philos (1997) from the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway.
Competence and research areas
Comprehensive experience in project management and EU-project coordination. The main research areas are representation and processing of shape related data and information, with a specialty in spline technology. Application areas are within design and manufacturing both targeting traditional and additive manufacturing, as well as shape representation and processing for geographic information systems.
