Esten Ingar Grøtli

Senior Research Scientist

I have been working at SINTEF since 2014. I was previously a postdoc at NTNU, and have lectured several MSc and PhD courses.
Visiting researcher at UC Berkeley, USA (2006-2007), and participating in DARPA Urban Grand Challenge.
Joint inventor of planning technology for robot manipulators used in spin-off company Adaptive Robotics. Receiver of T. J. Tarn Best Paper in Robotics (ROBIO - 2018) and Best student paper (ICINCO - 2010).

Competence and research areas

Cybernetics; system identification, learning-based modeling, control and optimization of dynamical systems, state estimation, sensor fusion and sensor calibration.

Robotics; localization, motion planning, motion control and object tracking for various robotic applications, including industrial robotics, healthcare robotics, unmanned vehicles (AUV, ROV, USV, UAV, spacecrafts), and autonomous ships.
