Kenneth Schneider

Research Scientist

I have experience in electrochemistry and molecular biology from my previous studies on photo-microbial fuel cells and bacterial adhesion.

At SINTEF, I use electrochemistry to:
⁃ turn cheap molecules into expensive molecules
⁃ remove harmful substances
⁃ replace fossil feedstocks and expensive catalysts
⁃ improve energy efficiency
⁃ decentralise production
⁃ store electrical energy as chemical energy

Education

2010 - 2015 PhD at University of Bath (UK)
2007 - 2010 Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry at University of Regensburg (Germany)

Competence and research areas

Electrochemistry competence:
• Gas and liquid phase reactions in flow and batch mode:
- Synthesis (organic and inorganic)
- Upcycling
- Mitigation of harmful compounds
• Cell/Reactor design
• Up-scaling
• Electrode fabrication
• Photo-electrochemistry
• Characterisation of materials and system performance
