Underwater Test Facilities

Senior researcher, Jostein Thorstensen, characterising an underwater 3D camera using different reference objects. This led to us later conducting a field test in a red tuna farm in Spain

We have a test pool, tank and aquarium where we can test and evaluate underwater technology that we have designed and built.

  • Capabilities: Submersion of small-to-large objects, testing in scenarios where there is a spill risk. We also have the possibility to vary water quality and turbidity.
  • Applications: Aquatic sensors, marine robotics, and spill containment systems.

     

    Dimensions

    • Test pool: 8.95 x 3.80 x 0.98 meters.
    • Tank: 200x70x70 cm.
    • Aquarium: 125x50x50 cm.
We have even used the test pool empty for set-ups that require extra height (upto 4m)
