Backdrop for the seminar
The Norwegian industry has identified several ways of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions inline with the commitments Norway has made in the Paris agreement from 2015. Hydrogen has been identified as one of the possible solutions for the future, both for industrial purposes and as fuel for transportation.

Aim and target group
SINTEF invites the industry in Mo i Rana to this seminar where we want to investigate the industrial possibilities for production and use of hydrogen towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Mo industrial park are aiming at establishing methanol production from CO2 captured from Elkem Rana inside the industrial park and hydrogen produced from water electrolysis. Hydrogen can also replace carbon as the reduction agent in ferroalloy industry. With increased use of hydrogen in the industrial sectors, it is likely that hydrogen will a solution for the future also in the transport sector. At this seminar, we would like to gather the industry and the expertise to share on-going projects, what is the current status on technology and what challenges and future projects can we identify in order to reach further greenhouse gas cuts in industry and contractors connected to the industry?

Programme and presenters
Mo industrial park, Swiss Liquid Future (SLF), fuel cell producer Ballard and SINTEF are confirmed speakers at the seminar.

When registering, you as a participant can choose whether you want to participate physically or virtually (webinar).
