Financing will take centre stage at COP29. This side event, organised by SINTEF and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), focuses on fostering equitable research collaborations and financing strategies between Norway and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to drive sustainable, nature-friendly energy systems and welfare.
The event will feature two panels: one led by NTNU Professor Anders Hammer Strømman on building partnerships that benefit LMIC knowledge communities, and another by SINTEF’s Nils Røkke on open financing models, with participants from academia, industry, and finance.

Discussions in both panels will draw on insights gathered by SINTEF and NTNU from nine research centres, highlighting advice on key technologies that can help policymakers and other stakeholders achieve our collective climate goals:
