The 3rd edition of Biocarbon in Metallurgy brings together research, policy and industry representatives from production of coke, metal processing, and biomass raw materials (biochar/biocarbon/charcoal) to discuss the current status and latest developments in technology, science, markets and policy.

Biocarbon in Metallurgy 2025 provides an excellent opportunity for fruitful discussions, for learning about current market expectations, and establishing new business relationships. 

Specific topics include the potential availability of renewable biogenic matter as a raw material for the manufacturing of low-emission reductants, their quality, as well as technical issues related to their industrial production.

Date and venue

The event will be held on April 8-9, 2025 in Wisła in Poland in the comfortable Hotel Gołębiewski. The hotel is located in the Beskidy Mountains, only about 2 hours drive from Krakow Balice Airport and about 1.5 hours from Katowice Pyrzowice Airport.

Tuesday 8 April 2025

  • 09:00-12:30 morning session with keynote presentations and panel discussions
  • 13:00-14:00 lunch
  • 14:00-17:00 afternoon session with presentations and panel discussions
  • 19:00 conference dinner and social event

Wednesday 9 April 2025

  • 09:00-12:15 morning session with presentations and panel discussions
  • 12:15-12:30 closing session
  • 12:30-13:30 lunch

Attendance of Biocarbon in Metallurgy can be combined with a visit to the laboratories at ITPE in Zabrze on Monday 7 April, 9:00-15:00h. Please indicate on the registration form your interest in this visit. Note that you’ll need to arrange transport to and from ITPE yourself.

  • attendance of all presentations and panel discussions.
  • coffee breaks and lunches on April 8 and 9,  and dinner on April 8th
  • access to the presentations after the event

  • visit to ITPE laboratories on Monday April 7 (optional)
