The development of systems for data driven decision support combines disciplines such as operational research, economics and data science with sector-specific technology know-how, to ensure a correct representation of the underlying decision problem. These kinds of systems generally find solutions that are more cost efficient or profitable than those obtained through a manual planning process. We have developed such systems for various sectors, including transport, process industry, forestry, energy and oil and gas industry. Several of these tools see daily usage and have been in operation for a considerable number of years.
