In April 2008, the EU commission announced the names of the members of the European Research Area Board (ERAB), a steering body for European research and development, which has the task of providing advice to Janez Potocnik, the EU Commissioner for Research and Development.
The SINTEF Group’s President is one of 22 prominent representatives of European research appointed to the Board, having been selected from a list of 400 candidates.
This is a very central position in European research, given that ERAB will play a key role in the development, promotion and evaluation of research within the EU.
