This emerged from the 2008 Universum Graduate Study, which surveys economics, technology and IT students in 28 countries. In Norway, 4572 students took part, including 1971 technology students.
The technology students voted SINTEF into a strong third place, beaten only by StatoilHydro and Aker Kværner, but ahead of Hydro, Den Norske Veritas, the Kongsberg Group, Norconsult and Multiconsult.
SINTEF Group President Unni Steinsmo received the award at a ceremony in Oslo on May 14.
“Being given such a good ranking by the students is extremely important for SINTEF, since we always want to recruit the best people”, she said.
Steinsmo emphasised the social role played by SINTEF, and pointed out that the organisation recruits successfully in a tight national and international labour market.
The annual Universum surveys provide a wide range of valuable information about what students regard as important and how they evaluate individual employers.
