Rasmus Sunde is a director of FMC Technologies, with global responsibility for the company’s Increased Oil Recovery (IOR) division. He has wide experience of Norwegian and international industry, and has held a number of leading positions in ABB, Vetco and Aibel.
Sunde has been a member of several boards in industry and various organisations, including as chair of the board of Intsok, in NHO’s Norwegian Industry forum, and in affiliate companies of ABB, Vetco, Aibel and FMC. Sunde is a graduate in economics and business management, and holds degrees from the University of Michigan, BI, the University of Wisconsin and London Business School.
“I look forward to taking over as chair and helping to make SINTEF even stronger as a research group at the international leading edge, at a time when research-based knowledge and new technology are important facets of our responses to many of the challenges the world is facing today,” says Sunde.
Sunde succeeds Jan Erik Korssjøen, who is leaving the Board after eight years. Korssjøen has chaired the Board since 2002, during a period that has seen SINTEF strengthen its position as an international leader in industrial research.
Other new members of the Board include Hanne Rønneberg, a director of Skanska AB, and Professor Stig Slørdahl of the Faculty of Medicine in NTNU. Mona Askmann, a director in EBL Kompetanse, is a new deputy member.
