Bringing together 300 experts from academia, industry, and research organisations, the conference reaffirmed its role as an important meeting point for advancing offshore wind technology and innovation.
SINTEF has been a major contributor to the conference since its inception in 2004, and played a central role in organising this year’s event in collaboration with NTNU and the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA).
The 2025 edition featured a rich programme, explored cutting-edge topics such as grid integration, substructures and mooring, environmental impacts, and the application of AI and digital twins in wind farm operations.
SINTEF’s Vice President of Research, Petter Støa, sees the conference as a unique event creating opportunities for innovation in a field that is increasingly important for Norway.
"EERA DeepWind is a unique platform where cutting-edge research meets real-world application, and for SINTEF, it exemplifies our commitment to shaping the future of offshore wind through collaboration and innovation," said Støa.
The discussions and knowledge sharing over the past three days, as part of this annual event, highlight the ongoing progress in offshore wind research and its importance in advancing renewable energy efforts. If you missed it, check out FME NorthWind's summary: EERA DeepWind 2025 roundup.
