In order to understand and implement the landing of oil and gas on the Norwegian continental shelf, it was early realised that multiphase flows and understanding of these were central. To get a basic understanding of these complex relationships, the decision was made early to make a software that would take starting point in '1 st principle '- ie understand the physics. LedaFlow is now a commercial code that is constantly improved and developed together with the oil companies. LedaFlow Technoligies DA is the company that was established to further develop the code. LedaFlow is a joint venture between ConcoPhillips, Total, Kongsberg Gruppen and SINTEF.
SINTEF has been responsible for R & D activities throughout the project.
