The project will look at the possible consequences of more free selection in fishing gear within the pelagic sector and in the cod sector. There shall in particular be considered whether a more free selection in fishing gear represents an efficiency gain in the part of the fishing fleet that are covered by the project. The project refers to an important goal to identify new measures that can rationalize the fishery, including strengthening the fishing fleet's environmental profile in the context of the current fisheries management.
