SINTEF’s tasks:
Material development of materials for metal supported SOFC.
The work involves:
- Development of versatile production methods suitable to prepare porous metal substrates from metal powders
- Development of protective coating layers for the metal supports with improved tolerance to oxidation and chromium retention
- Deposition of the substrate side electrode (cathode/anode), including the possibility of co-sintering the porous metal substrate with the electrode, possibly with intermediate barrier layers.
- Dense and thin electrolytes using low temperature routes
