SINTEF continues to develop high-temperature fuel cells and electrolysers with a proton conducting electrolyte. The project is based on two EU-funded projects where SINTEF developed components for metal supported, high temperature fuel cells. This included metal supports, electrodes and thin, dense electrolytes.
The project we will develop alloy substrates and electrodes using wet chemical methods, and pulsed laser deposition (PLD) for low temperature deposition of dense crystalline electrolytes. A novel powerful PLD recently acquired at SINTEF will be used to deposit thin and dense proton conducting electrolytes.
SINTEF will use existing lab infrastructure, both at SINTEF MC and SINTEF ICT, in order to facilitate the development of up to 6x6 cm2 electrolyser cells.
UiO is a partner in the project. In addition four international consultancy partners are involved in the project. The total budget of the project is 12.8 MNOK for the 3 year project
Researcher project – in the EnergiX call – funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
