Omstillingsmotoren or "Restructuring motor" is a new initiative in the cluster program which, within 13 months, will provide at least 220 companies across the country with a competence boost in areas such as innovation capacity, sustainability and potential technologies. The initiative will contribute to faster renewal and conversion in Norwegian business.
– Omstillingsmotoren will enable us to further develop expertise, technology and networks in internationally leading environments, and in exchange, we will share expertise, technology and networks with small and medium sized enterprises outside their own cluster, who have the will and ability to renew, says Svein Terje Strandlie, CEO of SINTEF Manufacturing and manager of the cluster NCE Raufoss.
Green, smart and innovative
Omstillingsmotoren will further develop NCE Raufoss' leading position and demonstrate practical industrial solutions within the enabling technologies "Advanced production methods" and "Advanced materials". – By ensuring more access to this expertise, our goal with Omstillingsmotoren is to stimulate the Norwegian industry and Norwegian SMEs to become greener, smarter and more innovative, says Jon Sandvik, senior adviser at SINTEF Manufacturing and project manager of Omstillingsmotoren.
Omstillingsmotor and catapult centre MTNC
Omstillingsmotoren will be closely integrated with Manufacturing Technology Norwegian Catapult Centre (MTNC), which has the ambition to develop and demonstrate innovative production processes and enabling technologies in mini-factories, in cooperation with industry and research- and educational institutions. The centre will be a new and important learning arena for both large and small businesses across different industries in Norway.
