COLDIGIT

The COLDIGIT project will investigate how innovative digital tools and approaches can support governance of complex societal processes in the Nordic region.

Contact person

COLDIGIT is about using Collective Intelligence (CI) in civic participation. CI is created when people work together, often with the help of technology, to mobilise a wider range of information, ideas and insights to address a societal challenge. Several cities around the world are engaging citizens in participation processes. COLDIGIT will focus on how digital tools can be exploited in such processes.

The project will

  • catalogue 150-200 cases using innovative digital tools in an open repository
  • create a conceptual model of the digital ecosystem of collective intelligence
  • study enablers and barriers of adoption and use of new technologies
  • test innovative solutions through a series of pilots in Finland, Sweden, and Norway.

Based on the findings, COLDIGIT will draw policy advice on how to develop and implement such digital tools and approaches in ways that contribute to a dynamic and responsible digital transformation of Nordic societies.

SINTEF is represented by SINTEF Digital in COLDIGIT. SINTEF coordinates the creation of the repository of digital cases, and the Norwegian pilot.
