SINTEF’s involvement in IMPACT
Two SINTEF institutes were partners in this project.
SINTEF Energy Research analysed grid codes, implemented the PTO grid model, and defined the rig’s electrical specifications. They also collaborated on the rig’s electrical and software design, and provided support on the final test phase.
SINTEF Ocean reviewed the selection of relevant environmental test conditions and novel testing methodologies. They also defined the novel metrics and checked the overall testing phase execution, from the engagement with WEC developers to the results analysis and final reporting.
