Work packages

Description: The gear developed in the case study work packages 4 and 5 will be assessed in this work package. The gear will reduce fuel consumption, emissions, and impact on seabed and their environmental footprint will be compared with the conventional gear presently being used. In particular, the fuel-use intensity (fuel-use per catch), the carbon footprint, and the emissions reductions will be compared with the conventional gear in the fishery as well as with corresponding values for similar international vessels. Additionally, using seabed impact indicators and data from sea trials, the impact of the conventional and developed gear on the seabed will be compared.
