A significant opportunity in large part manufacturing
The REED platform will redefine the B2B relationships through a networked digital productive model, leveraging standardized secure data sharing, digital product passports, and learning feedback loop among other technologies.
The implementation of the Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) concept represents a significant opportunity in large part manufacturing. The adoption of MaaS will enable rapid adaptation of the production means to emergent production demands, ensuring efficient manufacturing, stable procurement and maximum exploitation of the European production fabric. Thus, by embracing distributed efficient production and inter-company resource and data sharing, REED project will align with principles of resource efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Development of a MaaS platform
The main objective of REED project will be the development of a MaaS platform that will provide the enabling technologies, equipment and services for the flexible manufacturing of bulky parts for the capital goods sector, ensuring the quality of the components produced while maximising productivity and minimising environmental impact. The unique REED platform will redefine business-to-business (B2B) relationships through a networked digital productive model based on Market 4.0 platform.
- Objective 1: Integration of production-related digital twins into MaaS platform for sustainable and efficient production of large-sized parts.
- Objective 2: Servitisation of assets for manufacturing of bulky parts within a collaborative manufacturing value network.
- Objective 3: Development of visual monitoring systems and scoreboards to present timely information.
- Objective 4: Apply Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Manufacturing Data Space (MDS) initiatives in the domain of bulky part manufacturing across different capital goods sectors
- Objective 5: Demonstration of the benefits of using REED platform to manufacture bulky parts.
Integration of various stakeholders
- Establishment of a scalable MaaS platform that integrates various stakeholders across the manufacturing value chain specialised in the manufacturing of bulky parts for several industrial sectors and applications: capital goods, yellow goods, energy (wind power), tool & die, machinery.
- Manufacturing Data Space (MDS): Creation of a secure, shared data environment enabling efficient data exchange and collaboration among manufacturers.
- Digital Product Passport (DPP): Development and implementation of a DPP system, facilitating traceability and sustainability of products through their life cycle.
