Abstract
The influence of ejector performance on the overall efficiency of ammonia ejector refrigeration cycle in different operating conditions was numerically assessed and discussed. A brief review of experimental results reported in scientific literature was performed and commented, specifically with reference to limited values of ejector efficiency (up to 18%). Physically and technically based thresholds for further increment of ejector performance were presented. Sample operation curves for the ejector layouts reported in literature as well as potential degrees of freedom for optimization of the ejector design were suggested and discussed, based on the results of numerical simulations carried out by authors’ own one-dimensional ejector model.
