Abstract
This memo documents the development of a down-scaled model of a Multi-Terminal HVDC system in the SINTEF/NTNU Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory. The setup has been gradually developed over the past years, and is presently representing an interconnection between three AC-grids and an offshore wind farm. This has been put In the context of a North Sea DC-grid.
The memo provides details on how the system is composed, in addition to the functionality and construction of the individual components. The main focus of the present work has been to implement power and voltage control, and to verify stable and secure operation of the system. However, the laboratory is very flexible and could be utilized for other studies in the future.
