Abstract
This publication describes the first test results of an ejector manufactured and tested at SINTEF Energy Research. This paper is complementary to the paper by Zha, 2007, which describes the theoretical part, i.e. the design and parametric investigation. The ejector is experimentally investigated in an oil-free R-744 test facility in order to focus on the ejector properties and behaviour. The results are very promising and show a very good COP improvement possibility for a R-744 transcritical process deploying an ejector, as the pressure ratio for a compressor could be reduced. However, there is still a lot to investigate in the behaviour and characteristics of the ejector. Furthermore, a good improvement potential by the modification of the different ejector parts is possible as this is the next step of investigation
