Abstract
Carbon Capture and Storage is a necessary mitigation measure for GHGs emission reductions, especially in the short-term perspective
Urgent need for less energy-intense capture processes
Main objective of this work: to develop an efficient MBTSA process for post-combustion CO2 capture as alternative to the state-of-the-art absorption based technology
Targets for the MBTSA process performances:
CO2 purity > 95 %;
CO2 capture rate > 90 %
Main energy requirement: heat for sorbent regeneration
Evaluation of the impact of the capture process on the power plant efficiency and operation
