Joint Rock Physics Inversion of Seismic and Electromagnetic Data for CO2 Monitoring at Sleipner

Abstract

Seismic monitoring of CO2 storage is mainly sensitive fluid saturation changes in the reservoir. We combine electromagnetic and seismic data to image CO2 saturation and its distribution type at the Sleipner field. We find that the simultaneous joint inversion reduces uncertainty in recovering fluid saturation.
