Real-time simulation of a transient model for HVDC cables in SOC-FPGA: A practical example

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to show a procedure required to implement a frequency-dependent model of an HVDC cable for real-time simulation in FPGA. The model is used in electromagnetic transient analysis. Once the real-time simulations are implemented, the engineer can test the models with integration of hardware and perform hardware in the loop validation of equipment. It is important to highlight that the reader may need other sources to complement the work described in this chapter.
