Abstract
This research work describes selected demonstration activities related to concrete infrastructure in deep sea, arctic and subarctic zone of scenario S1b “Salt spray and chloride intrusion” supported by the H2020-EU project LORCENIS. Two novel functionalized admixtures (LDH and POSS) were evaluated in two different types of mix designs to enhance performance of reinforced concrete in a real marine exposure site owned by RISE in Träslövsläge (south of Sweden). Results so far have shown that incorporation of the nano-additives improves the resistance to chloride ingress by 55% to 80 % depending on admixture chemistry and exposure condition.
