Abstract
To obtain new experimental results on two-phase flow in fractures, in particular fluid trapping and the interplay of capillary, viscous, and gravity forces in fractures, SINTEF has developed a new transparent flow cell. The cell has a dimension of 60 x 100 cm with a fracture aperture below 1 mm. The cell is tiltable in the range 0° to 90°. Experimental results will be used for development and verification of theoretical models of two-phase flow in fractures. In this webinar, the construction and initial testing of the cell will be presented.
