Abstract
Black Liquor to Fuel, BL2F, aims to pilot a first-of-a kind integrated hydrothermal liquefaction (IHTL) process using black liquor at the pulp mills, to develop a high-quality, drop-in biofuel to be used in the aviation and shipping sectors.
The corrosion- and materials evaluation study with simulated hoop stress through C-rings in 1) water-based simulated black liquor in stagnant conditions in an autoclave and 2) water-based simulated black liquor at super-critical flowing conditions in the SINTEF HTL reactor was successful.
