A Smart Web-Based Platform for Aquaculture Systems Empowered by Intelligent Agents

Abstract

In the realm of aquaculture, significant challenges such as water quality management, disease control, and environmental sustainability are critical and demand innovative solutions. To address these issues, Aquaculture 5.0 has emerged, emphasizing smart systems and automation. This presentation introduces a groundbreaking web-based platform specifically crafted to tackle these challenges by ushering in a new era of aquaculture simulation. Aligned with the Aquaculture 5.0 paradigm, our platform offers a holistic solution that seamlessly integrates intelligent agents into the simulation environment. It assembles a comprehensive digital twin for aquaculture research facilities, encompassing production systems, environmental conditions, and fish behaviour models. Our innovative approach leverages surrogate modelling to optimize computational efficiency without compromising accuracy, and it introduces natural language processing through a Chatbot assistant for intuitive simulation setup. Robustness analysis ensures the platform's reliability across diverse simulation scenarios. With the potential to significantly enhance the sustainability, efficiency, and economic viability of the aquaculture industry, this platform is poised to benefit researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals on a global scale. Ongoing developments will expand its capabilities and broaden its applicability to a wider array of aquaculture systems.
