Plug-and-Play : software design, implementation and use

Abstract

A conceptual, architectural and functional specification of dynamic Plug-and-Play (PaP) for network and teleservice components has been used as input for this report. The report documents the design and implementation of the PaP Support system, and also a set of PaP specific applications. The PaP Support system is the implementation of PaP generic functionality, and serves as a common basis for the execution of PaP applications. A standardised programming interface defines how PaP applications are able to execute under control of the PaP Support system. The PaP applications documented in the report primarily demonstrates the usability of the PaP Support system, and also serves as programming templates for how to develop PaP applications. This report, together with the other references documentation will serve as the main input for those who are going to do modifications and extensions of the PaP Support system, and those who are going to develop and maintain PaP applications.
