Inspiring studentseminar on Battery Technology by SINTEF, Aneo, Pixii and Evyon

On Tuesday, October 15th, Gemini Center Battery hosted the second student seminar of the autumn in Verkstedhallen, gathering over 30 participants from various engineering and technology fields.

The seminar, held in VE22 SMASH, attracted students interested in disciplines like industrial chemistry, nanotechnology, materials science, electronics, computer science, renewable energy, and more.

The event featured engaging presentations from both research institutions and industry. Ingeborg Kaus from SINTEF Industry opened the seminar with an introduction to the organization and highlighted opportunities for summer jobs and permanent positions.

Erik Næss Guldbrandsøy from Aneo gave an inspiring talk on hybrid power plants and battery technology, emphasizing the importance of continuous energy supply and the rapid development in the sector. Martin Nyborg from Pixii followed with a presentation on flexible energy storage, demonstrating how this technology can be tailored to different needs and applications.

Lastly, Amund Raniseth from Evyon shared his insights on battery safety in stationary systems and the experience of pursuing an industry-focused Ph.D. His perspective on combining research with industry-related work inspired many attendees.
