Do you want to contribute to the green shift this summer?
We offer a unique opportunity for students who want to contribute to a more sustainable society, by working with us on solving various problems for Norwegian and international industry.
The activity in this position will focus on analysis and modelling of renewable energy technologies like batteries, fuel cells and electrolysers, and their integration in renewable energy systems. Neural network models and machine learning techniques have already been implemented in our activities. Our ongoing projects include development and demonstration of transport applications such as zero-emission trucks, buses, and ships (based on fuel cells and batteries), as well as renewable energy systems based on wind and solar power, coupled with batteries and electrolysers/hydrogen for energy storage. This research is performed in close collaboration with internationally leading companies in these sectors, so your work will be applied and industrially relevant.
Technical and operational data from actual systems will be made available, and the work will be performed in close collaboration with committed researchers and project partners. The tasks will be varied and with a large degree of freedom, while the main aim of the work is to further develop our machine learning models to improve the understanding of and optimizing design and operation of renewable energy systems. Knowledge in programming a prerequisite, and some experience with machine learning is an advantage.
We would also like to continue this activity in a student fall project and/or a master thesis 2025/2026.
Duration is 6-8 weeks
Location will be Trondheim
Organization of housing must be taken care of by the student prior to signing the contract (if not already living in Trondheim).
