Circular carbon processes
Carbon is an essential part of almost everything that surrounds us and thus also an important input factor in very many production processes.
Our main source of carbon is still oil and gas, but the world needs to transition to more sustainable carbon sources and greener production processes. We are therefore working on the development of new catalysts and processes for conversion of CO2 into chemicals and products. Biomass is another important sustainable source of carbon, and the group has through a number of EU projects developed considerable expertise in the conversion of biomass to both fuels and chemicals via thermochemical and electrochemical processes.
