SINTEF Nord, a branch of the SINTEF foundation, is located in Tromsø and Kirkenes. We specialize in research and development focused on Norway's northern regions, providing valuable R&D services to industries, businesses, and public management.

With a team of 18 highly skilled employees, SINTEF Nord focuses on areas such as fisheries and aquaculture, information technology, maritime operations, and mineral resources.

Our mission is to drive the green and digital transitions and foster local value creation in the north. We collaborate closely with businesses to enhance their competitiveness.

Our projects cover a wide range of topics, including:

WATSON

Start:

Food fraud threatens food safety, public health, and the effective functioning of market forces in the food sector. The EU co-funded project WATSON aims to reduce the risk and frequency of this type of fraud in the European market.
