About SOVAL
SOVAL helps municipalities (water utilities) and consultants calculate necessary rehabilitation level, rehabilitation rate and investment need in urban water- and wastewater networks in order to maintain or improve the service.
The model is a cohort survival model, which focuses on the survival of groups of pipes as a function of time.
The only requirements to run the tool is web access and an input file with information on all the water or wastewater pipes in the utility. More information about this in the user guide found on the website: Documentation and user guide for SOVAL
The project was funded by the Norwegian Research Council under the IPO (Innovation Project in the Public) call.
