The optimisation is done with respect to lowest TCO for a selected timeframe.
The models account for the route and operating profile, timetable, access to grid for battery charging and hydrogen production and re-fuelling.
The model results include optimal dimensions of the components in the energy system (battery and/or fuel cell size), onboard hydrogen storage, required charging and hydrogen infrastructure as well as degradation of system and/or components.
