NTNU - Coordinator

  • Three departments at NTNU are involved in this project. The Department of Chemical Engineering has expertise and advanced labs in membrane technology. They will be responsible for separator design and battery testing, contributing to all WPs. Prof. Liyuan Deng will lead the project. Dr. Önder Tekinalp and Ph.D. student Zainab Waris are employed to perform research tasks in WP 1 -3.
  • The Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering has battery experts and facilities for battery fabrication and advanced characterization. Prof. Ann Mari Svensson,  Prof. Daniel Rettenwander and Dr. Mir M. Din are involved in WP1, 3.
  • The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture is responsible for RRI activities (Prof. Govert Valkenburg) (WP4).

SINTEF

  • The Thin Film and Membrane Technology (TFMT) and Battery Technology (BT) groups are involved in the 3S Battery project., both in the department of Sustainable Energy Technology.   TFMT is represented by Dr. Tor Olav Sunde and Dr. Mathieu Grandcolas. BT is represented by Dr. Nils Peter Wagner.
  • SINTEF's main focus will be on incorporating nanomaterials into advanced electrospun separators in WP2 and is also involved in battery testing in WP3, including advanced characterization and modelling.

Uppsala University

  • Prof. Daniel Brandell's group at the University of Uppsala (UU) is the international partner in the project.
