Can robots outdistance Chinese hand-painted Kinder Surprise figures? This pilot project has automated the painting process from drawing board to finished product.
Toys inside a Kinder Surprise, also known as a Kinder Egg, are produced in a process taking six months from start to finish. The process includes shipping casted toys from Europe to China for hand-painting. This spurred the company behind Kinder Surprise to investigate options for integrating the painting process into the production process, thereby minimizing shipping costs and delay.
