Work packages

WP1 – Passenger ship safety model

This WP will identify important risks associated with passenger transport at sea, related technical barriers, safety functions and crew requirements.

WP2 – Analysis methods and validation

Based on MSC.1/Circ. 1455 and the corresponding circular from the Norwegian Maritime Authority, this WP aims to develop a method for describing safety functions and requirements.

WP3 – Novel safety measures

This WP will be used to suggest and describe alternative safety barriers, work methods or safety principles that can allow for actual reductions in safety manning (e.g. preliminary concept designs for new safety measures and/or equipment).

WP4 – Case study: Ship design and integration

This WP will specify the two ship types to be used as case examples in the project.

WP5 – Project management and dissemination

This work package will be used for the organisation of the project and the management of administrative issues.
