Hydro Aluminium Rolled Products is Norsk Hydro's business area for rolled aluminium products. Hydro is a market leader in Europe within this field, and holds a strong position worldwide, with approximately 3,900 employees and eight production sites in Europe. The products are used in a number of applications in the construction, automotive, printing and packaging industries to name a few. The company in Holmestrand manufactures rolled aluminium products (sheet and strip) almost exclusively based on the remelting of recycled and new aluminium at its own foundry. Around half of the production is lacquered at coil coating lines before delivery to customer within the construction, automotive and food can industry. More than 95% of production is exported, primarily to customers in Europe. The factory employs around 400 people and has round-the-clock operations.
