Optimal Power Management of Multi-energy Community Considering The Local Energy Market

Challenge and objective

  • What is the role of the DMO in managing energy transactions in the local energy market?
  • How does dynamic pricing influence the energy transactions and the overall operation of the DERs?
  • How does the DMO coordinate with the DSO for energy transactions, especially when there is excess energy or a demand to meet load requirements?
  • How does the DMO optimize voltage and reactive power (Volt-VAR) through controlling DERs?

Work performed

  • Applied the ADMS with existing components of the DER in the distribution system to maximize energy efficiency and reliability.

Significant results

  • A framework considering all physical constraints to maintain distribution system reliability while integrating functionalities.
  • Aims to manage energy transactions in the local energy market, focusing on reducing operational costs and coordinating the energy community (EC).
  • The proposed MO uses the distributed algorithm to achieve the equilibrium point in the market, and protect privacy.
