The objective of this task is to implement algorithms in the SINTEF oil weatehering model enabling prediction of the “window of opportunity” for in-situ burning of oil in ice covered waters.
By mapping burnability of several different oil types as a function of weathering in ice, we want to establish limits for in-situ burning for different oil types based on their chemical composition.
The SINTEF oil weathering model can then be used to predict the window of opportunity for burning as a function of waethering at sea.
