In this WP we will conduct a material flow analysis (MFA) for the national input and output flows of plastic as well as the stocks of plastic in the Norwegian economy, and mapping the economic role of plastics in different sectors and industries. The flows and stocks of plastics within the Norwegian economy and environment will be assessed using an MFA approach. The approach will build on methodological approach outlined in the Waste Flow Diagram (GIZ, University of Leeds), but extended to a national scope also including other parts of the value chain. Initially a clear system definition has to be made, ensuring inclusion of all important stocks and flows in the system.
