Objective:
Collect, store and analyse in service harsh weather operational data for selected case vessels (ferry and offshore vessel). Use operational data to improve 6 DOF simulation models.

Short WP description:
Prepare case vessel specific test programs for studies of manoeuvring performance in harsh weather. These test programs will be developed through workshops involving experienced case vessels masters, ship designers, equipment manufacturers and scientific personnel from the project's research partners. In addition normal operation data during harsh weather periods will be collected. Sea trial data will be compared to simulation model outcomes and used for modification of the simulation model parameters to minimize difference between observed and calculated motion characteristics.
