Hanna Katariina Knuutila, PhD
Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering NTNU
Hanna K. Knuutila is a professor of chemical engineering at NTNU. She holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from Tampere University of Technology (Finland), and a PhD in chemical engineering from NTNU.
Her main research interests are related to acid gas removal using absorption technology and solvent degradation. The research activities currently focus on developing and characterising acid removal solvents. The work covers both fitting thermodynamic models, absorption kinetics modelling, process simulations, and experimental work to provide data to models. Solvent stability and solvent degradation studies have become an important research topics in recent years. She has been an active partner in numerous EU and national projects over the years.
