Figure below shows the effect of the buildings and terrains on the turbulent kinetic energy profiles. The current simulations were done using Unsteady RANS turbulence model.  The dynamic movement of eddies generated owing to flow separations by building obstacles can hamper the safety of the flight.   An advanced hi-fidelity LES simulation can shed more light on this aspect and is being planned as future activity.
