Autonome team

Team, og spesielt autonome kryssfunksjonelle team, blir i økende grad brukt som en måte å organisere arbeid på. Autonome kryssfunksjonelle team har potensial til å være en svært effektiv og fleksibel arbeidsform, spesielt i bransjer kjennetegnet av raske markedsendringer, slik som innenfor IKT og finans. Bedriftene må kunne tilpasse seg komplekse og uforutsigbare oppgaver, hvor de raskt må endre fokus etter kundenes behov, og hvor innovasjonsarbeidet er kontinuerlig.

Autonome team er også aktuelle i storskalaprosjekter, distribuerte prosjekter, og når organisasjoner inngår i økosystemer hvor autonome kryssfunksjonelle team dannes på tvers av organisasjoner og bransjer. Fordelene med autonome kryssfunksjonelle team ligger i evnen de har til å utnytte kompetanse på tvers av funksjoner og at beslutningsmyndighet desentraliseres, noe som skaper flatere strukturer med økt medvirkning, distribuert ansvar og mer effektive beslutninger.

For at autonome kryssfunksjonelle team skal være effektive i dagens og fremtidens verdiskapingsprosesser preget av komplekse prosesser og høy usikkerhet, er det behov for ny kunnskap om hvordan slike team fungerer. Det er nødvendig å finne ut hvordan autonome kryssfunksjonelle team kan fungere i ulike bransjer og på tvers av bransjer, og teste ut nye modeller for teamorganisering hvor kompetanse og fordelene med den norske arbeidslivskulturen utnyttes på best mulig måte. Prosjektet vil adressere tre kjernetema i forhold til teamautonomi: lederskap, koordinering og kunnskapsforvaltning. De fire bedriftspartnerne er Kantega, Knowit, Skandiabanken og Storebrand.
